Join Us for First Thursday: STAMPede Edition on June 5

If you’ve been to a Summit First Thursday, you already know it’s not just an art walk — it’s a neighborhood-wide celebration of creativity, curiosity, and connection. And if you haven’t joined us yet, June is the perfect time to start.

This month’s event on June 5, features our first-ever STAMPede, a playful scavenger hunt that invites you to collect artist-designed stamps as you make your way through exhibitions, shops, and creative spaces downtown. As you go to each venue, you can collect stamps designed by local artists! Whether you collect one or all of them, you’ll leave with a unique keepsake and maybe a new favorite artist.

Here’s a glimpse of what’s in store:

Fred Astaire Dance Studios

• Time: 12:30 PM – 9:00 PM

• Description: Offering free introductory dance lessons throughout the day. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or a beginner, step in and enjoy the rhythm.

• Description: GreatHouse invites you to a special event where you can explore unique artworks.

  
  

A. HOME

• Description: A. HOME will host an art show and sale featuring the works of Laura Paray. Visitors can explore and purchase pieces from this talented artist during the event.
  

Lavender and Sage Boutique

• Time: 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM

• Address: 426 Springfield Ave, Summit, NJ 07901

• Description: Explore the work of Selma Rachel, founder of Datalove, along with a curated selection design pieces and feel-good finds in a boutique setting.

  
  

Summit Free Public Library

• Description: Take a look at "Ling Zhong: From Here…to There…", an exhibition of watercolor illustrations paying homage to the everyday journeys of New York City commuters and the rhythms of urban life.

• Description: See the current exhibition and participate in a "Drop in and Draw" session. No experience required—just bring your creativity.

• Description: Explore the Members Show featuring diverse artworks from local artists (see it before it closes on Sunday!). Attendees can also receive a personalized sketchbook giveaway.

Whether you’re an art lover, a curious newcomer, or someone who just wants a good evening out, you’ll find something to enjoy. Bring the kids, bring a neighbor, bring your own sense of wonder.
