Summit First Thursday returns on Thursday, July 2, with art, music, and a great reason to do a stay-cay in Summit. Start your morning at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey with a free watercolor workshop from 10–11 AM. This relaxed, welcoming workshop explores how making art can help us slow down, center ourselves, and enjoy the simple pleasure of creating something beautiful. Today Is First Thursday in Summit
Here is your friendly reminder: First Thursday is today. Come for one event, make an afternoon of it, or turn it into a full Summit stroll. Art, shopping, dancing, sound bowls, family fun, and a little downtown wandering are all on the menu. The day starts at the Summit Free Public Library with Zenia Olesnyckyj: Impressions of Alaska, on view from 9 AM to 9 PM. The exhibition features photographs inspired by the artist’s journey through the southern coastal region of Alaska.

First Thursday is back on Thursday, June 4, and Summit has a full day planned. This month’s lineup starts in the morning, carries through the afternoon, and ends with a big downtown celebration for families.
