Discover Summit's Vibrant Art Scene at April's First Thursday!

Mark your calendars for Thursday, April 3, 2025, as Summit, NJ, transforms into a lively hub of art, culture, and community during Summit First Thursday. From 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, local galleries, boutiques, and businesses will open their doors, offering an array of special events and experiences designed to inspire and engage.​

Event Highlights:

• Unleash Your Inner Artist: Drop In & Draw at RAM Gallery: Engage in hands-on creativity at RAM Gallery, located at 84 Summit Ave. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a curious beginner, this interactive session welcomes all. 
  

• The Healing Arts Gallery / Reiki and Art: Experience the fusion of art and wellness at The Healing Arts Gallery, situated at 57 Union Pl, Suite 212. 
  

• Ann Beason and Merri Lawrence: Silver Linings: Discover the collaborative works of Ann Beason and Merri Lawrence at the Summit Free Public Library, 75 Maple St.  
  

• Sparkle & Sip at Lavender and Sage: Enjoy an evening of shopping and refreshments at Lavender and Sage Boutique, located at 426 Springfield Ave. The evening is featuring fairy hair, bubbles and truffles!  

• Artist Spotlight: Chelsea Leifken! Meet featured artist Chelsea Leifken at Kanibal + Co, 27 Maple St. Explore her latest works during this special showcase. 
  

• Evening at the Art Center: Head over to the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey (68 Elm St) for a night of thought-provoking exhibitions and community connection. Don't miss ETA: Rerouted, Under the Sky, Above the Sea, and Not Built in a Day—three unique shows exploring ideas of place.
  

• Summit Public Art Walking Tour: Wrap up your evening with a guided tour of Summit’s public art installations, starting at 7:00 PM at The Promenade (426 Springfield Ave). Learn more about the artworks that make Summit’s streets so visually engaging.

Summit First Thursday is a free, city-wide celebration. Whether you come to shop, explore, create, or simply soak in the atmosphere, it’s an evening you won’t want to miss.

This initiative is organized by the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey and Summit Downtown, Inc., alongside participating local businesses and organizations. Together, they’re working to spotlight the vibrant creativity and welcoming spirit of Summit every first Thursday of the month.
