A Mini Guide to Tonight in Summit: Art, Music, and the STAMPede

Tonight is First Thursday in Summit, and it’s a big one.

We’re celebrating with our STAMPede art scavenger hunt, great local exhibitions, and the launch of Summit StreetSounds, bringing live music all across downtown. Whether you're out to collect stamps, explore local galleries and shops, or just enjoy a walk with live music playing on every corner, tonight is a great night to be in Summit.

Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of it.

STAMPede: Here’s how it works

Pick up a free postcard at any participating venue. As you visit locations, collect artist-designed stamps. Each stop is different, and if you visit a few, you’ll walk away with a collaborative art piece that’s totally your own. No rush, no rules, just a fun way to connect with local art and creativity.

• Lavender and Sage Boutique 426 Springfield Ave | 4:00–7:00 PM | Thoughtfully curated items and a great stop for stamp collectors.

• Summit Free Public Library 75 Maple St | 4:00–8:00 PM | Enjoy Ling Zhong’s watercolor exhibition.

• The Healing Arts Gallery 57 Union Pl, Suite 212 | 4:00–8:00 PM | A preview of Kayo Shido’s solo show. Don’t miss it.

• A. HOME 11 Beechwood Rd | 4:00–8:00 PM | Featuring an art show and sale of Laura Paray’s work.

• GreatHouse 12 Beechwood Rd | 3:00–7:00 PM | Local artist work in a beautiful setting.

• RAM Gallery 84 Summit Ave | 5:00–7:00 PM | Drop in and draw while enjoying the work of Karen Margolis.

• Kanibal & Co. 27 Maple St | 5:00–7:00 PM | Sip and shop while you collect your next stamp.

• Visual Arts Center of NJ 68 Elm St | 5:00–8:00 PM | The annual Members Show is on view, and we’re giving away free sketchbooks with personal calligraphy on the cover, created to your specifications.

  
  

Summit StreetSounds: Live Music from 5 to 8 PM Take a walk through town and enjoy the music. It’s a perfect soundtrack to the night.
